had one removed as a teenager, at local gps. Was fine with local anaesthetic, ached a bit after it wore off. hth

no, no pain, just fear

I had one removed from my back last year. It's a bit weird because you can feel the tugging and smell it when they cauterise it.

They really bigged the pain up and kept saying 'you may need to take some paraceatamol later/you have got some pain killers at home haven't you, cause it will start to hurt later etc... I was braced and stocked up.....It was fine, a bit of throbbing but really, fine.

I am a complete wimp about anything like this and it was not painful at all. The anticipation/adrenaline beforehand was bad - experience of removal and after - completely underwhelming. You will be fine!

In short - does it hurt? No.

Cut out or burnt off?

Have had some burnt off and couldn't feel a thing.

misdee · 09/06/2007 22:15

Make sure you have a stash of pain killers and chocolate for after the procedure.

Hope all goes well xx

Take a couple of ibu with a snack about an hour beforehand.

You'll be fine! You've been proactive - well done for getting it checked out.

I had 2 cut off my nose a few years ago. It didnt hurt in the slightest, all I could feel was a tugging sensation. In fact is was so painless that I started nodding off while they were doing it & the dr kept telling me not to go to sleep as it was worrying him!
