Can I request a blood test at my GPS?

I'm 35+5 and was at maternity triage today due to upper abdo pain and tightenings, abdo pain subsided with paracetamol and the tightenings subsided when pain did.

Fast forward a few hours later my urine is still pretty dark even though I've drunk loads of water today (about 2.5 ltrs) and I'm very itchy which I know can be a sign of ICP thanks to dr google I'm now terrified!

If I go to my GPs first thing tomorrow for open surgery can I request a blood test for liver function? Hospital didn't seem to care today as everything subsided but this itching is insane tonight! I had originally felt my upper abdo pain this morning was gallbladder related

Did you tell maternity triage about the itching? If not phone them. They should really have done bloods with those symptoms! If they did and haven't done anything then I'd speak to gp tomorrow!

Definitely get in touch with maternity first. Liver function results are different in pregnancy and GPs aren't specialised in interpreting them or sorting out a course of action if they're abnormal. Also, blood taken as an outpatient isn't processed as fast so it isn't the best place to go.

The itching has only started tonight, the thought of sitting in that maternity triage again all morning is filling me with dread 😫

Definitely ring them tonight! If the itching is new and severe it's potentially a dangerous condition. I think they would want you in tonight!

Absolutely go back to maternity triage.

Back in matenity now they've taken my bloods and I'm going back on ctg when I've had something to eat. Itching still so bad Sad
