I take it you're taking EPO for eczema, are you?
My DH also takes it for that.
His eczema was truly awful, but after starting to take EPO he noticed a change within a couple of weeks.
The actual healing and recovery took longer though, but now you'd never know he'd even had it.
They say that you should take it for about 3 months.
If you notice some improvement in that time then you should continue taking it.
If you don't notice any change, then you are unfortunately one of the people for whom it doesn't work and you should probably look for an alternative treatment.

a month before it did anything to my menstral stuff but notice difference in my skin in a few days.

Keep going and speak sternely to your cat.

2 caps is enough for me.

Hi sorry to hijack but thinking about taking this myself for pms.

BBB-did it improve your skin?or do you mean it made it oily,as i've heard it can do?

Celery · 08/06/2007 12:39

I've just started taking it for pms too. Been taking it for 12 days now, after HORRENDOUS PMT last month. Period is due in 3 days again, and I've noticed an improvement. Skin, slightly better ( no huge breakout ) and mood not so bad. Still not fantastic, but it seems better. I've heard you need to take it for 6 weeks to notice the full effect.

BishyBarneyBee · 08/06/2007 13:38

doesn;t make skin more oily just smoother. Quite balancing.

No dry skin on legs now.

PMT much better.

Celery · 08/06/2007 19:26

So, how much can I take then? I'm taking 1000mg a day at the moment - can I up it to 2000mg a day?

tigi · 08/06/2007 19:34

A friend told me about this, raving about it for pmt. Also starflower oil. She buys a combined from tesco, but I was in morrisons and bought them seperatly. Only took it 2 days....

I get the tender boob thing, always had it, went away while actively bf but it has come back again. Mine are very tender for about 7-10 days before a period and actually swell a bit too so I have to have different bras for pre and post period! Very sore, hate them to be touched and wince when I take my bra off at night.

Over the counter EPO works for some people but you have to take it for a long time like months. You may be able to get a prescription version of it called Efamast but it never worked for me. I have read that cutting out caffeine helps but I love my one good strong cup of coffee in the morning. Supposedly cutting out dairy can also help, also taking B vit supplements. I also tried homeopathy but without success. Sorry that sounds a bit negative.

Never mind I am 40 this year so not too long to the menopause. Or I suppose I could get pregnant again

RuthChan · 09/06/2007 07:13

Oh sorry. Looks like I got the wrong end of the stick on this thread!
As far as I know my DH doesn't take his EPO for breast tenderness...but then again...maybe I should ask just to check!!
