MEASLES!!!

hi, i found out yesterday that my 9 month DD has measles, i don't really know much about it so could anyone give any advice please? she is also suffering from bad diahoerra as a side effect from it so any tips with that too what be helpful too please as she is getting a really sore bottom!!! thank you x x x

Sorry to hear this. One thing that doctors don't always tell you is that measles really depletes the stores of vitamin A, which makes children prone to further infection. Try and give your daughter plenty of foods rich in vitamin A (liver, dark green leafy vegetables, carrot etc.). If she won't eat these ask your doctor about supplements, but DON'T give adult ones as too much vitamin A is dangerous. The main risk following measles is chest infection, so do watch her for signs of this.

thank you very much, your right, my doctor didn't tell me that so i appreciate your advice! do you know if it is still contagious (sorry about the spelling!) after the rash is out? my doc says not but the internet says it is!!

My dd2 had measles when she was 6 months old. Your dd will be infectious for four days after the rash has come out. Hope she feels better soon
