Broken 2nd toe, told not to bear weight. Do I need special shoes?

So, yesterday I tripped over a flip flop and managed to crack a bone in my 2nd toe Blush
It's not too bad and they just taped it to my big toe and told me not to bear weight on my toes only on my heel.

However, this means I have to use the side of my foot as it's the most comfortable way and it ensures I don't put any weight on my toes, but it's getting hard as it's a very unnatural position and my ankle is getting strained from being a bit twisted outwards.

Would a particular type of shoe or contraption help with this? (i was thinking something like the detachable heels that people tie onto casts or something like that)
Thanks!

When i broke the little toe and one next to it wooden clogs were helpful. My son was about 2.5 at the time so keeping off it as advised was a bit of a joke.

Thanks OhTheRoses, I don't have any clogs, but I do have a pair of Crocs at home that might be useful, at least they will cushion any possible knocks!
