Hi all,

Apologies in advance for the essay..
I'm getting desperate and am not sleeping because of pain, it's interfering pretty badly with my life. I just wondered if anyone had similar symptoms and would really appreciate a chat about everything to get it off my chest Smile

I have got a GP appointment this week but recent experiences give me little hope of answers anytime soon.

I have already got Hashimotos Hypothyroidism(allegedly sufficiently treated) and Ulcerative Colitis. Consultant thought for a while that the UC was causing some of the pain but now I am technically in remission he thinks something else going on, possibly autoimmune also.

Anyway, here's my list of symptoms
*Low back pain-1 year
*Hip pain-6 + months
*Rib and pelvic pain-3/4 months
*All pain worse at night and most nights now waking up several times a night. Struggle to move in the morning and often have to set alarm much earlier to take painkillers and allow time for pain to subside. Can be in pain up to 3 hours after waking.
*Pain much better when moving, bad again after sitting or lying down during day.
*Pain in ankles and feet-2 months ish
*Fatigue-1 year and variable
*Mid/left low abdo pain-ongoing.
*slight urine leakage(not every day)

Thanks for reading Smile

I’m not a doctor, but could it be fibromyalgia?

JW1226 · 22/08/2018 06:53

Sounds like auto immune to me!
Possible vitamin deficiency vit b12 and d get those checked out.

I'd also cut out gluten from your diet.

Hope you get well soon x

GloriousGoosebumps · 22/08/2018 09:31

It could be a vitamin d deficiency. My symptoms were lower back pain, hip pain, pain in both shins and excessive sweating from the top of the head. It would be worthwhile having your levels tested.

NaToth · 22/08/2018 09:47

Let's not go down the fibro route. There is a theory anyway that most fibro is actually inadequately treated hypothyroidism anyway, so that's where I'd start.

Along with that come vitamin and mineral deficiencies, so yes, get B12, folate and vitamin D checked.

Good luck!

Ohdearolive · 22/08/2018 22:09

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
Was tested for B12 a few months back but will ask to be retested as bowel issues could cause that. Haven't been tested for vit D but will ask, thanks.
Interesting re the link between untreated thyroid and fibromyalgia, didn't know about that. Will do a bit of research, thanks.

I could have written this but my symptoms are not as severe. I had low vit d which has been treated but i am still the same. I put it down to my mattress.
Never knew the link re fibro and thyroid. Very interesting. Have you got pains in your arms. I have a pain that comes and goes in my right arm. It's a low level pain but it feel muscular and v hard to describe.

Ohdearolive · 23/08/2018 13:18

No pain in my arms, thankfully. Sorry you are having issues too 😞

Have you seen a private chiropractor or osteopath? May be worth looking into - mine found lots of chronic (not chronic serious just chronic as in been going on a while) problems that were treatable. Definitely get bloods done too. Could it be osteoarthritis? A friend suffer and some symptoms sound similar.

Ohdearolive · 24/08/2018 17:18

Hi, thanks for the reply. No I haven't seen chiropractor yet, that's the next logical step though.
I want to try and get to the bottom of what is going on though first.
Saw GP today who knows my history; she is testing for vit D, B, magnesium deficiency and Rheumatoid factor. Also, had mentioned last thyroid bloods and they are slightly above "normal" which I was never told when I got results Hmm Would have been helpful to know that months ago.
My TSH is 5 which is high for me, I'm better at around 1 so that could be a reason for the symptoms. She's retesting those too, thank goodness.
She also mentioned fibromyalgia but my symptoms don't fit so well.
Fingers crossed it's a vit deficiency and/or under medicated thyroid. Will know more next week.
Thanks everyone Smile

I'm having a really bad day and just venting 😞
My hips are so painful today and I'm incredibly lethargic, I keep falling asleep. I'm not even dressed yet.
Had my bloods done on tuesday but the results won't be back yet.
I hate living like this 😞

@Ohdearolive I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering 😔 are your results back yet ? Hope your feeling better than you did the other day xx

AnnieAnoniMoose · 03/09/2018 19:50

Have you got your results yet?

It’s horrible not knowing what’s causing the pain. Mine’s slightly different, but no answers yet either.
