Was this a Migraine? And what would cause it?

I woke up during the night last night. Feeling really hot, with a bit of a headache. The headache, and hotness quickly got progressively worse. I had to put a cold flannel on my head to try and numb the pain. But I still felt too hot and the headache was too painful to go back to sleep. Then I started feeling sick. Was throwing up on and off for an hour. Then my head wasn't as sore, nor was I as hot. So I was able to go back to sleep.

I feel ok today, just a bit tired. Has anyone had something like this.

Migraine tends to be in just one place but not always. I wouldn't worry unless it happens again. Could you have been dehydrated? Stressed? Food poisoning? Mine last for 3 days normally.

Sounds more like a vomiting bug.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 21/08/2018 08:55

I get migraines like that. Tbh nothing really causes it, it's just one of those things.

Igneococcus · 21/08/2018 08:59

Sounds very much like the sort of migraines I get sometimes.
Was there pain in (or behind) one of your eyes?

MaisyPops · 21/08/2018 08:59

I get migraines. It doesn't sound like the migraines I get. It seems like more of a bug.

Hope you feel better soon. Flowers

I get migraines like that, awful vomiting clears it. Xx

MigGril · 21/08/2018 09:04

Could be espicaly if the pain was one sided. That is what normally defines a migraine, it's not unusual for vomiting to make you feel better.

If this is new for you, you should really see your GP so it's logged on your medical notes. Even those who have regular migraines should report any change in migraines to their doctors as well.

ScrambledSmegs · 21/08/2018 12:04

It's possible. Was the headache all over your head or would you describe it as localised or one-sided?

EmilyDickinson · 21/08/2018 12:09

It could be food poisoning. What did you eat that day?

Thymeout · 21/08/2018 12:39

Did it affect your vision? The feeling hot sounds more like a bug or food poisoning to me.

I feel like this too with a migraine.
Headache around eyes
Hot
Sick
Hope it soon passes.
