Headlice, I feel ill 😷

I recently stayed at a theme park hotel and could not stop scratching my head when I woke up. It was intensely itchy. Google said it is unlikely you can catch headlice this way and more likely to be bed bugs Envy Envy so I came home and immediately hot washed everything I took away but the itchy head didn’t stop.

I know you should only treat if you see a live louse but I used Hedrin once last night as I was so paranoid. This morning I scratched the nape of my neck and felt something, sure enough I pulled out a dead creature. I have stripped the bed and done a 60 degree wash of all of the bedding and all the towels from the bathroom.

I have a nitty gritty comb and more treatment on the way but I can’t wait so I bought another treatment, a nit comb and some conditioner today as I need to do something. Should I treat with the Lyclear or comb with conditioner?

I found the Hedrin great. You need to repeat it after 3 or 4 days even though it says 7 days on the bottle.
I found the combs didn't pull the eggs off as my kids hair was too fine. I had to go through each section of hair and pull any eggs off with my fingernails. Then repeat the process 3 days later. You will see if there are new eggs as they are very close to scalp, whereas older eggs are stuck further out from the head.
If you do one really good section by section at a window in daylight, then at the next sitting a couple of days later you will see if any new eggs have appeared.

Thanks Seaweed42 I was going to use the Hedrin again on Wednesday but may bring it forward. I have combed through my hair with conditioner twice today and am going mad with tea tree and vinegar combos and blasting my hair with the hair dryer and straightners. I did a really thorough comb through today, sectioning it all off, then sweeping it all back at the end but only found one egg. Then a quick comb with conditioner and tea tree before my shower.

I treat my son with Hedrin Once last night and have pulled some eggs out of his dry hair then added conditioner and combed more out. I will treat him again through the week but keep up with the combing. Fingernails seem to be the only way of getting some of them.
