Ulcer on my tongue - OOOOOOWWWWW

It's right on the side of my tongue on the edge. It keeps rubbing against my teeth. How do you clear ulcers quickly?
I've dabbed salt on it so far. It's been there for a few days

Get something called Anbesol. It comes as a gel (OK) or a liquid that you dab on (brilliant). It is quite expensive but really numbs it for an hour or two. I get these a lot and reckon it is the only thing that works. Have never found anything that gets rid of them, just makes i slightly more bearable. You have my sympathy - i am clear at teh moment but it is agony!!

Thanks, will try and locate some tomorrow.
In the mean time, I have a roast dinner to eat, any ideas how to enjoy it without being in agony?

another vote for anebesol....liquid is good...prepare to swear though as it smarts!!

The gel is okay but you need to chase it around the bathroom before it slides down your throat.

Warm salt ater regularly is always good option!!

Also rinstead good

In the interim why not try teething gel? I get Adcortyl in orabase from the pharmacist why is great for those really sore ones.

You can't clear the feckers quickly.. only treat the pain. Neat salt does indeed seem to speed the healing a little though.. although it makes me jump around the room sqealing for a couple of minutes!

A big nasty one can last up to 2 weeks. You will suddenly realise one day that it doesn't feel any worse.. and then the next say it will hurt a little less..

Bloody mouth ulcers. I get them in waves.

Adcortyl in Orabase is what you need. It has a teeny amount of hydrocortisone in it which even after just 24hrs takes the inflammation out of it. If I have a bad ulcer I try to slap on the Adcortyl last thing before I go to sleep. Your mouth feels gunky when you wake up but because it's had time to work overnight the ulcer often feels so much better by morning.

Another option is Corlan pellets which you can buy from the chemist. You put them next to the ulcer and let them dissolve.
