Is she teething?

DD is 23 weeks old and has turned from super easy baby to quite a fussy baby in the last couple of days. I thought she had a cold as she has a a high temp and snotty nose, but some-one said it could be teething. What are the other signs I could look out for?

Dribbling, hands/putting other things in her mouth, funny smelling poo.

her poos have certainly been more frequent - and less pleasant! (not that i would ever describe them as pleasant!)

It's difficult to tell. I used to think that "teething" would last for a couple of days and then, bingo!, a new tooth would appear but it can just go on, and on, and on..... It has become a catch all term in these parts!

I know -seems like it has so many symptoms. She certainly isnt happy

my dd2 started teething at 12 weeks and now only has 9 teeth at 18 months

my older two just got red cheeks and were a bit grizzly for a day or so before a tooth appeared,so i was lulled into a false sense of security.

dd2 has followed a pattern for teething, she gets a cold, earache, bright red cheeks then gets constipated for 2 days and then when the tooth starts cutting she gets the runs.she also gets very whingy and cries alot.

i use calpol, calgel(imo better than bonjella)and ashton+parsons teething powders, which seem to settle her.

dd3 is 12 weeks and has started chomping on her fist,so it looks like im going to ahve two teething at once!oh joy

i forgot to mention ds2,who was pretty much the same as dd2 except he had all his baby teeth by 18 months so it wasnt so bad.
