How do you feel the day after a bad night sleep

I was woken up twice last night due to my kids crying .... I get really angry .

I feel so unwell , I have a headache , I'm not "with it" i can't concentrate , and I have no energy all day .
So I get very angry if I'm woken up because I can tell if I know I'm going to suffer During the day

It's different when you have newborns because you get used to it but when you started getting your sleep back it is awful being woken up .

How do you react to a bad night , be it a restless night , kids waking you ect

I just find I'm irritable really. Our dick head neighbours had the police out to them at the weekend, we were woken up by them having a slanging match out in the street then couldn't get back to sleep. I just felt in a bad mood all the next day.

I wake groggy. Try and convince myself I can Power Through. Hit 3pm and am starving and irritable couting hours to bedtime. Then stay awake til checks clock gone eleven.

I feel awful when I'm sleep deprived. Really irritable, all over the place and I feel dirty and hypersensitive to everything.

I’m terrible the following day. Irritable, incredibly anxious and sometimes see and hear things due to a mental health condition I suffer from. I’m going to be like that in the morning no doubt and not looking forward to it at all!

First day: like a zombie. Second day: irritable etc

Branleuse · 01/08/2018 12:01

i feel absolutely awful, headachey, like a zombie, grumpy, emotional. Like everything is the end of the world. Really dramatic.
Im sure I didnt used to be this bad

The same as usual, just more tired obviously. I'm so used to going to bed late and not sleeping much or well, so it feels normal to me.

I regularly work night shifts and survive on 3-4 hours sleep due to school pick ups, drop offs and other commitments I feel like death.
Takes about 2 days to recover.

Your children must be terrified if they wake in the night and your response is to be very angry. How lovely.

NapQueen · 01/08/2018 13:25

She didnt say she got angry with the kids

Branleuse · 01/08/2018 14:16

well i can own it, im definitely not the best parent in the world after I dont sleep, and it is not good at all for me to be snappy with the rest of the family, but aside from leaving them all to it and escaping from them, im not sure how to manage that one. Its hardly nice for the person affected either. It can be pretty debilitating. Im convinced im on the autistic spectrum, and when I havent slept or im ill, i feel like all my behaviours get magnified and its really hard to function. It actually makes me feel disabled and thats not even an exaggeration. My children are the same. We do all have to rub along together in our imperfect family
