Is PMS some sort of deficiency of the frontal lobe?

Because thats what it feels like
Not only do i leap from happy to WILD and tantrumming ....but also

things have to be 'just so' othrwise i cannot cope
i keep on getting annoyed over and over with the same stuff

more tellingly - i SWEAR all sounds seem exhaggerated to the point where i could put my hands over my ears and crawl into a darkened space if one more toddler drops or throws a toy onto a wooden floor.......

this is so awful - help me................

Vitamin b supplements and evening promrose oil. Persvere for more than a fortnight. It has worked wonders for me.
Sadly, it's all down to hormonal changes which can fluctuate wildly at different stages of your life. I can't understand why mine went so through the roof recently, having been eating/sleeping/excersiging well and not on any contraception...but vitb has sorted me out.

Are you sure this is PMS and not stress?

Personally, I think it is a wine deficiency is it not?

I thought I read that somewhere......

filthymindedvixen · 31/05/2007 18:06

Otter I have very psychological pms, I am noise intolerant to the extream, I have unbelievable road rage, I hate everyone & want to be on my own.etc.. etc..

I have found vitamins with iron and EPO effective, I take them everyday. I don't think the symptoms go alltogether, but are reduced.

When i had my 1st child I BF for a yr. and was soooooo free... I think my pms was less for a good few yrs ......

niceglasses · 31/05/2007 18:21

Seriously, I think I had terrible PMT after the 3 kids and have been on Prozac for about 8 months which has evened me out. It got to the stage that only 1 week out of a month was normal, the rest I was a cow really.

I am weaning myself off them, trying to get in a better place.

Otter · 31/05/2007 18:24

niceglasses - i was on ad's for 9 months until last month and the shheer joy of no ps was wonderful

but it is back (i am stil glad i am off ad's as i felt they masked my true emotions)

kikid - yes you sound like me - i maybe do need iron as am always on the low side of normal

sorry, only just come back to this Otter. I'm sure you can buy EPO with Vit b6 comlex or some such. In fact at boots they do a hormonal bloody wommin mix (I may have made the name up...)
I take it separate as it was cheaper and I am a cheap skate.

My previous name fullmoonfiend was not just for its alliterative value y'know...so I do understand how you are feeling!

allgonebellyup · 02/06/2007 20:43

Please try Magnesium OK, its a gift from the gods!
i felt like you, angry, irritable, then wild and happy, then verging on OCD where little bits all had to be in the right places, and screaming at people if they were not! i truly thought i was going insane.

Honestly i have only been on it a month but i do feel the change. its all the vitamin Bs in there as well as magnesium and zinc.

Otter · 03/06/2007 23:07

thankyou both for that - will go and look for next months torture although still now bloody menses!
