Should I go back to the doctor

I started to feel unwell a few weeks ago. In the middle of June really. I had a lot of sinus pressure behind my forehead and my head was heavy. I was coughing badly too which was keeping me awake at night.

I went to the doctor because I was very bad at night time and found it hard to sleep with the cough. The cough was unbelievably agressive. Any time I lied down, I started a coughing fit which had me bringing up phelgm and puking too. I was also caught up coughing while excercising.

I found the doctor was a great help. Sinus and hayfever, it's all connected and I was given medicines. I was given an antihistamine, nasal spray and steroids. I was also given repeat prescriptions until September. I fulfilled three of the prescriptions and I still have more prescriptions.

I find the steroid tablets a huge help. That definitely calms things down.

However, I'm still suffering. I need to sleep propped up on pillows and cushions at night. Otherwise I have coughing fits and I'm sick.

I'm doing ok during the days. The pressure in my head is gone. It's only some nights I'm in trouble (and that's only if I'm not propped up) and excercising or walking from A to B which is more problematic.

I've loads of people telling me I should go back to the doctor. What do you think?

This may be as good as it gets. If the steroids were prednisone tablets you can't stay on them long term.

I have awful hay fever too and it sounds like you're doing pretty well at this point.

The tablets were Prednisone.

I didn't fill in another repeat prescription yet. I'm actually doing ok now aside from excercising/walking a to b and some nights. I sleep propped up. I have a system of cushions built up in a particular way in my bed. My mother came in and cleaned them off and brought them back to the couch. I told her that I need them and if I can't sleep with cough it means the whole household will probably suffer and like awake listening to my coughing fits. That was the end of that and I was allowed all the cushions back into my bed.
