Today I went to a specialist playgroup with my son. One of them has complex health needs although we are still in the process of establishing what they are, waiting on results and appointments etc.
I was explaining to another Mum about what we know so far, and how he had a big skills regression at 18 months. She immediately said it was probably his vaccinations and they’ve probably caused brain damage because it “happens all the time”.
At the time I just said no, absolutely not - it happened six months after any jabs, his health issues started before birth, they’ve already found structural abormalities that would have been present before birth and they’re looking for more issues with his brain.
I find this even harder because he contracted whooping cough in nicu and was extremely sick.
I don’t know why it’s upset me so much because I don’t believe there’s any connection with vaccines but I can’t get it out of my mind. Why do I feel so bad when I am so violently opposed to anti-vax rhetoric?
