Brown spots like freckles have appeared on my lower legs over the last few months. I am mixed race so naturally dark skinned so I may not have noticed them at first. Anyone got an idea of what they could be?

Looks like slight sun damage to me. Though I am no expert😂😂

Freckles?
Liver spots?

Jonbb · 20/07/2018 16:42

Freckles. Have you been in the sun?

NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade · 20/07/2018 16:46

It's normal, it's just your melanin reacting to the sun. I'm also mixed with mixed dc's one of them is very fair and freckles as soon as the sun comes out, the other dc's just get darker and I have white freckles all year round lol

I noticed them well before the hot weather started so not sure if they're caused by the sun. Would freckles only appear in one area? BTW I tan very easily and don't burn.

Could be hyperpigmentation. Is it possible you are pregnant? Sometimes pregnancy can cause a sudden increase in melanin production.

Just checked Google, apparently the pill can also cause it due to certain hormones being stimulated.
Apparently Asian, mediterranean and mixed people are more prone to this.

If you rub or gently scratch the freckles, do they raise/change colour? (Like nettle rash)
