Any dentists out there to give advice

Hi,

I grind my teeth and over the years have ground deep gulleys in the back of my front 6 teeth which led to thin and chipped teeth which looked horrible.

This week I had these filled with composite. They now look amazing but my back teeth no longer meet, and my front 6 teeth hit together with a large gap between the back ones.

The dentist said my back teeth would grow down to meet each other, but I'm in pain in my jaw and scared to eat anything in case I choke because I can't chew properly, or in case I bite too hard on the front teeth...

Do I need to go back to have them adjusted?

Any advice appreciated!

Choke? Can't chew properly? In pain? I don't think you need to be a dentist to come to the conclusion you might need to go to (another) dentist...

I currently have a gap between my back molars. I have recently finished over a year of Invisalign and am reassures that it is perfectly normal as the plastic braces have prevented my teeth from meeting. The dentist has told me they will eventually meet each other. However, I am not in pain and can eat normally. Your situation seems more extreme so I think I would be seeking a second opinion.
