Can you come and talk to me if you are, or have, come off Mirtazipine?

I am on week three of dropping one half tablet a week , so will miss three this week, and I'm struggling already. Tbh I was struggling after missing two halves.

Sorry, no help but I have been on these for years, I have tried to come off countless times and cannot do it, even missing one really buggers me up, I am very sensitive to it. I have even had the liquid to try to cut down even slower but I can tell straight away. I end up nauseous, dizzy, horrific headache, the worst I have ever experienced, I cannot function at all, and cranky and suicidal. I am resigned to being on them foreverSad

Oh Rab I am really sorry to hear that Sad. Would you be able to time it when you're off work so you can stay at home and try and manage through it all without trying to work as well?

I went on them in November as I just wasn't managed a life event well. The GP said they'd help me get more than 2-4 hours sleep a night and they did help me sleep but I'm feeling bad symptoms since coming off them. It's hard as I don't know if I'm feeling like this because of the life event, the coming off tablets or the fact I'm peri-menopausal.

I was on 15mg a day for three months until a couple of weeks ago. I ran out and decided not to get a repeat prescription, as I don't like taking meds if I don't have to. I'm a bit surprised, but I've not had any symptoms at all since stopping, and my sleep patterns seem to have returned to normal on their own (a sleep problem is why I went on them in the first place).

I hope your symptoms improve, but have a word with your GP if they don't.

Sounds like you've been lucky, FDM, not to have any side effects.

I'll see my GP at some point being investigated for cancer so will talk to her then but don't see the point of starting back full time on them as I'll still have to come off them at some point.
