Broken leg- still waiting 10 days after for surgery

My sister broke her tibia and dislocated her ankle 10 days ago. She had to have her ankle reset twice and is now waiting for an operation on her leg. She is at home but has had her op cancelled twice. Is there any complications on waiting so long. She is injecting her stomach daily to thin the blood but going out of her mind waiting to go in.

Unfortunately this is the way things are now.
I think it is likely that the surgery will be more difficult as the leg starts healing, but I am not in any way particularly knowledgeable about fractures.
If you have watched any of the recent programmes about the NHS you can see that last minute cancellations are the biggest problem because of lack of beds.
I hope she gets her op soon.
