Sudden loss of milk supply & anaemia - help!

Has anyone had anaemia associated with really heavy periods that made them lose milk supply suddenly? Is there anything I can do about it?

DS is 20 months, fed on demand successfully for 20 months. Feeds are about 5x during the day and 3-5x during the night, at the moment (and yes he has a good diet of other food too).

Yesterday was day 3 of total bloodbath period (had lost 250ml blood by then, as measured in mooncup) I was grey in the face and on the point of fainting nearly all day. From the first morning feed onwards (about 6am) my supply had dropped to zero. By 3am today it had returned very slightly on the left side and has remained like that - right empty, left not completely empty but empties quickly and DS makes it clear it's not working. It's now evening here (not in UK) and it doesn't seem to be getting any better, though I feel less bad and the period has tailed off considerably.

Obviously, now might be the time to wean. I hadn't planned to wean completely this early, though, erm, I also hadn't planned to have a toddler who feeds on demand like a young baby...

But is there anything I can do to get the supply back, preferably quickly? Treating anaemia with iron tablets will take forever...
