Banged my head yesterday, should I be worried?

Last night I banged my head badly on a sliding car door, it instantly swelled up (which is a good thing?), applied a cold compress and took some pain killers, stayed awake late as I was worried about conccution, felt a bit unwell but got a bit of sleep. Woke up and took some more pain killers as head still sore. Went to work but found it hard to focus and occasionally felt dizzy. It’s not hurting quite a bit. The lump has gone down quite a lot but not completely. I think it’s probably just really bruised. If I had fractured it then I would have been quite unwell by now?

Is it worth getting checked out or should I wait and see if I feel better tomorrow?

The three main symptoms that warrants immediate attention after a head injury is severe intense pain, fainting, throwing up. If you didn't suffer from any of these, I would just monitor.

Thanks swing, I am just keeping an eye on it. Just washed my hair which was painful but I could have more of a feel, there’s still quite a lump there and I’m guessing it’s quite bruised. Hopefully it will feel much better in a day or two.

If I'd of started going dizzy I'd of gone to a + e. Head injuries aren't things to brush off. Especially if you hit it quite hard.
