immunisations for 12 week old,

I understand from the news last week that a new 5 in 1 injection is to be released in september. DD has had the 1st 8 week jab. However due to the news I would now like her to have the infanrix instead. Because she has had her 1st jab will I be able to have infanrix?
Also could someone give me some guidelines on how I might persuade the GP to give me infanrix and what impact does this have on the other immunisations e.g polio etc.
Thanks

Yes she can have infanrix- but you may have a hard time persuading your GP. Scroll down health though as a few mnetters have managed it recently.

If you have any autoimmunity in the family then you could quote the Columbia research (which is the research upon which the thimerosil withdrawal has been based) as that suggests quite clearly that a genetic pre-disposition to auotimmunity is a risk factor for mice receiving thimerosil (and therefore quite possibly humans too).

No impact except possibly on hib. But maybe not hib disease was due a cyclical increase anyway. Other countries have been using infanrix for years without any hib worries. I think the hib booster may have been added permanently into the schedule anyway- I know they are considering it.

Sorry if im being dense but does this mean that if I choose to have the infanrix I wont get the hib meningitis vaccination?

Yes, you will get it - it'll just be a separate jab. Because of the amount of jabs at one session (i.e. run out of legs, poor mites!) my surgery staggered it so that ds2 has Men C and Hib first, then two weeks later the DTaP (Infanrix) and polio drops. Wait two weeks then rinse repeat until he's had 3 doses of everything. Your surgery (if you manage to persuade them to give Infanrix) may well do the same.

DD2 is getting Infanrix. She gets dtap and hib in different legs one week plus the polio drops. Then we go back 2 weeks later for the Men C.
