Thigh muscle twitching - anyone else get this? know about it?

I've just had a slightly longer than usual walk to work & my thigh muscles are doing what they always do when they've had a bit of work to do - they are quietly twitching all over, as if my leg innards are a mass of rubber bands & someone is randomly twanging them.

It's not painful, so I'm sure it couldn't be called spasms - and I've had a look at "restless leg" syndrome & it's not that - because it's not a night thing, it's a predictable, post-physical-effort thing. I've always had it - not a new thing.

Does anyone else get this? Could it be related to circulation problems? Any suggestions about how to stop it happening? (Yes, I should exercise more - but I'm fairly active - not completely sedentary.)

I get it sometimes. A bag of crisps and bottle of lucazade should get rid of it.

Hi Bink!

I've always been told that eating bananas can help prevent muscle cramps/twitching. I think it has to do with replenishing a potassium deficiency.

I am hopeless at links (have a mental block), but this info might provide some useful information:

Let me know if anything there rings true.

Oh, I get this in my calves and was only looking up about it last week - it has a special name. I get it when I wear particular shoes so assume they're pulling a muscle out of line in some way. I do get achey knees as well sometimes. Will look up word...

...Muscle fasciculation, that's it.
