Really sorry for the horrible picture

I'be had a sore throat for 10 days and it's just getting worse. It doesn't look like tonsillitis. In fact it doesn't look anything but a bit red does it? But it's so so painful. I am struggling to swallow and now the back of my neck is stiff and painful too.

Would I be wasting the doctors time to get this checked?

I'd get it checked.

From the photo it looks a bit thrushy too.

Sore throat and stiff neck can be early meningitis signs. Definitely get checked. I only know about the sore throat symptom as my niece has meningitis at the moment and we have been researching like mad

Get to the doctor to get checked over for Quincy.

I wouldn't say tonsillitis and if it is, it'll be viral (no pus) but your tonsils do look very swollen!
I would get that checked, especially with the stiff neck.

I don't think it's quinsy but you should be checked (esp with stiff neck). I have had the joy of meningitis (twice) and quinsy - all of which required hospitalisation and were utterly miserable. Get it seen before it gets any worse. Whatever it is.

Thanks everyone, it got rapidly worse yesterday and I saw the doctor and have tonsillitis (pus suddenly started arriving Shock).

The only good thing about this is that I can't eat which is helping my diet Grin

Thanks for the sympathy , feeling really sorry for myself.

Oh, you poor thing.

I hope you feel better soon. Tonsillitis really is the pits Sad

I’m just coming out the other side of this OP, I left it late to go to the GP and ended up with blood poisoning!
