Ok, I sliced a bit of my finger off yesterday Dressed it and thought that was that. Later on it hurt like hel;l so I checked it and it was still bleeding tons. Couldn't stop it so went to casualty. The nurse said doctor would have to see it coz there was no skin flap to attach to help stop bleeding. Anyway had to leave casualty untreated coz baby was crying at home and is fully b/f.
So my plan was to go back to casualty this morning after dropping kids to school.
It still hurts worse than labour!! I kid you not!
Is it worth going to casualty? Would the bleeding have stopped by now? I don't want to check in case it hasn't But don't want to sit up casualty all day with a baby.

If they said you needed to see a Dr then I would go back personally. Sounds very painful.

could you go to your gp? they would have the butterfly strips which might be what it needs or tell you to go to a and e, or if your really lucky they might have a nurse practioner who can do stitching.

The butterfly stitches would have helped in heal neatly. afaik, they need to applied quite soon after the accident happens to have the desired effect.

Hope it went okay. Never heard of the blood stopping spray. Have seen and tried the blister spray, its like glue. Is it the same as that?

magnolia1 · 23/05/2007 22:15

Went to casualty and they applied some kind of dressing that helps the blood to clot. Apparently i had sliced off some of the fatty tissue which is why it wouldn't stop bleeding.

Still sore but gets me out of washing up for a week
The spray is like a powder but it's not as good as the spray plaster/second skin.

Hope someone else does the washing up for you then.
Glad you got it sorted, fancy leaving it bleeding for so long. Hope its not too sore now.
