Painful tooth after filling

hi,

anyone have any experience of prolonged tooth pain after a filling. I had a couple of fillings 2 weeks ago and still have pain. Last week it was mostly when i had something cold or hot, with pain after hot lasting a few minutes. Now there is some intermittent pain at random.

Dentist took x-ray today and showed the fillings are a long way from the nerve so should not lead to nerve damage, but i did read online that the symptoms suggest nerve damage which could be significant and eventually need root canal.

Anyone have any advice or similar experiences?

Thanks

No. I had a crown fitted about two months ago and it’s causing me a lot of pain. My guess is the nerve got damaged. I’m thinking of having my tooth removed. I don’t like dentists and do not want a root canal. I hope you find an answer OP and I’m sorry I couldn’t help.

This happened to me. Was assured I didn't need a root canal. Ended up with root canal that went too deep and had to have the tooth removed. My recommendation? Go abroad for all things dentist related. British aren't exactly known for their great teeth.
