Have you already tried drinking lots of water and eating soluble fibre in the form of fruit and veg?

Anusol suppositories are better than topical ointment imo

Kenworthington · 12/06/2018 09:03

Well. Not really. I mean I’m drinking a lot of water. I’m not remotely constipated. In fact I get ibs, and it’s more a problem the other way iykwim. I’m scared to touch it, it’s external rather than internal . Would it help if it could be pushed back in??? Could I get the practice nurse to do it do you think 😬

Oh mate I've got the same thing, mine also not connected to constipation!

I got Scheriproct ointment and suppositories from the doctor, they have really helped but it did take a few days before the pain lessened.

It's honestly the most painful thing I've ever experienced.

EstrellaDamn · 12/06/2018 09:06

I pushed mine in last night in the bath - it was the first day in ten days that it wasn't too painful to touch - but to be honest it just came out again Confused

Kenworthington · 12/06/2018 09:08

Oh god I’ve got the same ointment. No suppositories though. If I wasn’t going away I’d just put up with it and let it do its thing naturally. I mean it’s a recurring problem but they don’t mornally bleed. Ffs. So typical. Maybe I could shrink it with ice????

From a pain/uncomfortable point of view, lavender oil diluted on some cotton wool, dabbed on is very soothing 👍

Pinktails · 12/06/2018 09:13

Train a cold shower on them to shrink them then put Germolene antiseptic with anaesthetic on them - works for me.

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 12/06/2018 09:17

Suppositories

RB68 · 12/06/2018 09:19

I would go all out with every treatment relevant, get bigger bikini bottoms and use a panty liner unless swimming.

Kenworthington · 12/06/2018 09:31

Ugh. Thanks for all your advice. It’s not helping that it’s making me anxious and stressed which is inflaming my ibs and this inflaming the sodding pile. Plus I just KNOW I will have a terrible tum on holiday . Always always do. Ffs

Wrap ice cube in kitchen roll and wedge between bum cheeks! Helps to calm and shrink a bit.

vilamoura2003 · 12/06/2018 12:29

I can feel your pain with IBS, I get so excited about holiday, anxiety kicks in, stomach plays up, spend most of holiday wanting to get home 😂😂😂

paap1975 · 12/06/2018 12:31

If you have IBS-D have you tried bile acid sequestrants? Worked like a miracle on me (for the IBS, not the piles)

Ohwhatbliss · 12/06/2018 12:51

You poor thing. Having gone through two episodes of this myself recently you have my sympathy, they're bloody awful things. Mine had thrombosed and were agony SadProctosedyl ointment, ice it directly and lots of sit baths to reduce inflammation. Even my horrific one reduced in 3 days with all of the above. Good luck!
