Pain after LLETZ (not for the squeamish)

I had my first smear 3 weeks ago and the results came back showing I have High-grade Dyskaryosis.

I had a colposcopy and LLETZ today and to say it was horrific is an understatement. The local anaesthetic was so painful and I got very dizzy, that the nurse tried to get it done as quick as possible, so when she came to cauterise the bleeding, the top of my cervix wasn't numb enough. She asked if I could bear it while she cauterised as much as she could (she also caught the top of my thigh with the heat tool when I asked her to stop for a minute 😭) and, although I tried my best, it was absolute agony and she eventually decided to stop the bleeding with nitrile (I think she said)

It's been and hour and a half since and I'm still in agony, it's like a hot/ stinging/ burning sensation. I'm wondering if this is normal and whether it's going to get worse as the local wears off??

You poor love! I hope the pain subsides soon, that sounds horrific.

That sounds awful!! I’ve had the lletz procedure but it was nothing like that and completely painless other than a bit of a cold burning sensation when cauterising the area (like the feeling of spraying deodorant on my skin for too long).
I had bad period type cramps after for about 24 hours.
