URGENT........need some help with Chest Xray

[UCM]

DB had xray last week and got a consultants letter this morning giving an appt in 2 weeks. He went to see gp tonight who has said that his lungs & heart are ok but he is right to be concerned and has to have a CT scan. I am worried. What is a CT scan. He is here at the mo, so we would like anyones experience on this really quickly please. He is 49.

I think it's a cat scan - sort of imaging

DH has them a lot - wrt his asthma

Computer topography, I think? Gives a lot more detail than an x-ray. He might have to have some contrast dye injected.
