Does this Blood Pressure reading sound ok for 10 year old?

DD (10) was sent to A&E by our GP today for a foot issue. They did all the usual triage checks including Blood Pressure. The nurse took it once and was seemingly not satisfied with the results so did it again on other arm. The second reading she wrote on the form was 70/45. Does this not seem very low for a 10 year old girl??

We are home now, and no one (including the A&E consultant) mentioned it, although they were just mainly focusing on her foot so I'm not sure if anyone even paid any attention to the triage notes. I'd be so grateful if anyone can tell me if that is an acceptable reading as it's playing on my mind...

Also to add that DD is exceptionally tall for her age if that makes any difference?

Sounds very low.
Would she let you check it in a few days time in the chemist or similar??? If still very low, might be worth a chat with a GP or practice nurse?

Thank you Balloon. I will see if we can find somewhere to get it tested again over the weekend. I'm hoping it was simply because she was a little dehydrated due to it having much to drink since the night before, but not sure that could account for it being so very low?

Bet they used too large a cuff.

Yup, probably used too big a cuff. If she's up & about, eating, drinking & peeing normally I wouldn't worry.

Aahhhh phew!!! Thanks so much you have made me feel a million times better. The child cuff was too small so they used the adult cuff which would have been big on her!!All makes sense now. Thank you 😊
