Baby Poked Himself In Eye, Red Mark, What Do I Do?!???!??

11mo DS just came back from a night at his dads house with a red mark on his eye. He said he poked himself in the eye with a spoon.

Has anyone else's child done this? Does anyone have any advice about when its time to call the doctor? Part of me feels it's quite impossible to create such a mark with a plastic spoon especially the age he is, but that could also be because I lack trust in his father.

My son visits an opthomologist because he was born with a red mark on his face that spreads over the eyelid, so I'm worried that this might aggravate something. However, we've had no problems whenever he's been to an appointment before, and I have no real reason to believe it's anything than just a mark from where he came out a little too quickly.

Any advice or information from someone who has seen this previously or knows something about it would be greatly appreciated. I think I could definitely call myself a bit of a worrier!

Thank you!!

Honestly, it just looks like a tiny burst blood vessel where he's poked himself in the eye. My son did this to me once when he was a toddler with his finger - so I'm sure a plastic spoon could do it.
Excessive coughing, vomiting, sneezing, crying can also burst the tiny vessels in the eyes.
It depends what you mean by not trusting his dad. If you think his Dad could purposefully harm him, then it might be best to get your LO checked out. If it's just a burst blood vessel it should disappear within a few days.
