Bleeding inbetween periods...is there a doctor in the house?

Sorry, I'm sure this has probably been discussed a few times, but I'm just looking for some reassurance and a bit of clarification.

On the NHS Direct website it lists all the horrible things this could be due too, but says that normally (that's me, please!) it's due to hormonal changes - esp if it happens 10 to 14 days after your period.

Now, what I need to know is - do they mean 10 to 14 days from the start of your last period, or from the end?

Any clever medical people out there?

thanks.

I think it is from the start of your period. I always have a small bleed in the middle of my cycle which is probably due to ovulation.

Hope someone that knows more comes along.

Thick person alert: I've started to have bleed in middle of pill packet, looks like old blood: does this mean risk of being able to conceive increased or just carry on as normal?

MKG · 19/05/2007 23:22

I had this when I was on the pill. I would carry on as normal. But call your gp just to make sure.

I think 'spotting' as it is refered to is not a major cause of concern if it is on the odd occasion and is a small amount (over a couple of days) between periods.

I would suggest you see your GP

It maybe caused for various reasons sometimes change in contraception can do this.

Get it checked though.
