Has anyone used harley street gynaecology?

I haven’t personally but I’ve heard Dr Gibb from The Birth Company is very good. I’m sure others with more experience will give you some more suggestions in a moment.

Bumblealong1 · 30/05/2018 00:19

I have seen Angus McIndoe ok Harley street various times. Was recommended to me by someone with 35 years experience in the NHS. I had a different issue and he was very good. But worth calling and enquiring if he has expertise in your areA.

sausagerollsontheside · 30/05/2018 00:24

Thanks for the two names I'll google them

I've asked my pain consultant (this is for back damage from pregnancy) for any pointers as well. Have been seeing him at London Pain Clinic.

He has said steroids can give dodge periods but this is on an insane level and I have been found to have another lump again on ovary

Endless and expensive

We are so busy now

Any of the gynaes at the King Edward V11 Marylebone, London. (where all the royals go.) I see one there and he's brilliant but they are all experts and hand picked.

sausagerollsontheside · 30/05/2018 07:15

I've read about the king Edward

We like this area as have found the consultants I have seen to be no nonsense and we really are busy and don't want to waste time with people with zero availability and a lack of experience
I'll pop them an email now

Thank you

Have a read of their profiles on the website first and email their PAs.

sausagerollsontheside · 30/05/2018 07:40

I've sent a general enquiry to the KE

And I've emailed 9 Harley St specifically asking for Mr Mc Indoe as his profile suits me and he uses a hospital I know already around the corner

I doubt they will be able to help you with a general enquiry other than suggest you contact individual doctors.

Have you used private care before? The process is to contact the consultant you want to see - they are effectively 'freelance' not actually employed (compared to the NHS) and their diaries and availability is managed by their own PAs.

Bumblealong1 · 30/05/2018 08:24

Indeed. They all have someone managing to their diaries seperatly.
Angus’s receptionist was always good at sharing with me general expected costs too- if that is an issue.

sausagerollsontheside · 30/05/2018 08:32

@QueenoftheNights yes I emailed Mr Idahoes secretary and the same for another consultant

I have only used urgent NHS care and am very used to accessing private health care and private hospitals.
I've used other consultants and like the location of 9 harley street it is easy to park for

Weymouth street hospital have had me twice and I like their theatres and reception team along side the nurses

As they are in the same buildings as other consultant they will know each other and I can ask for recommendations

The king Edward actually operate via a general gynae enquiry and then they refer you to the best suited one if they they are suitable.
I can see mr idahoe would be able to help if he felt I should seek some more advice

Fees are important as always and i don't want the cost to run away so I like an invoice and the options for treatment and then I can progress @Bumblealong1 so that's very good to hear.

Mc Indoe I mean

Busy morning !!!

OP posts:
QueenoftheNights · 30/05/2018 09:49

I had a quick look at the KE consultants and at Mr McIndoe; he seems to specialise in oncology more than anything. Are you looking for someone who specialises in cysts? Polycystic?

My gynae has always worked from 3 venues in London but has now reduced it to 2- the King Ed and the Lister. I have only ever booked appts through his PA who isn't London-based.

Hope you find someone.

sausagerollsontheside · 30/05/2018 09:58

This is what I've got but the email bounced back

Twice!!!
I called his secretary she sounded from up north.

Have you got a recommendation for cysts for me?

Thank you 😬

I've seen both Miss Omar and Miss Hanna out at the Sloane Hospital but that might be too far out. Miss Omar was available to see immediately (ie i could get an appointment for that night at the time, A couple of years ago). Miss Hannah had a couple of weeks waiting time.
... Just thinking, i think Miss Omar took appointments in central London too.

sausagerollsontheside · 30/05/2018 10:07

Gotitwrong

I'm going to look up Miss Omar thank you so much

I'll Pm you. I don't like to give the name here in case it outs me.

sausagerollsontheside · 30/05/2018 12:43

Thank you I will login on website to see it

The bleeding is worse and sore again today
I can't see Angus Mc Indoe for a few weeks but it will be with an ultra sound at the same time

Should I try someone else
Sorry but I hate the BMI / Spire group

I think they are so poor in quality and the price is the same in London with newer facilities
I'm starting to feel like I want to see someone tonight for their last appointment & a scan at the same time but I know that's really quite anxious of me

I have bad anxiety about being sick after not taking symptoms seriously before
