so - HONESTLY - how would you feel if when you go t the gynaecologist

he turns your file round to you and in response to referral letter from your gp - he has scrawled 'URGENT - COLPOSCOPY' across it????

Mr Glass!!! Yes knew him well and yes he can be intimidating - barely speaks to anyone if he can help it so don't be concerned about his manner.

Probably the reason you had trouble getting a smear at your gp's if it wasn't due is that it's a screening process for women but if there is a problem it needs direct investigation straight to the gynaes.

(and sorry Kookaburra us nurses undergo a 6-month supervised training course for taking smears and don't just do them in-between vaccinations )

i WAS intimidated by mr glass - but he was OVER friendly and too too kind!

When I went for my 1st colposcopy (after a smear(, I had 2 very nice nurses and a gynea.

Basicaly, I was given a local anasthetic. My cervix was examined (I could see everyting on a TV screen - how thoughtful!)a biopsy was taken and sent to the lab- this was possibly just a swab?- then any pre-cancerous cells were burnt off. They put a fan on to get rid of the smell of burning. The nurses were very sweet. One even held my hand.

The 2nd time, the gynea said he couldn't see anything, so asked me if I would like any treatment, but I declined. He took a swab anyway.

You can't have sex for a month afterwards!

i dont actually ave anything wrong 'yet' just post coital bleeding!
