Ouch! My c section scar!

I had DS nearly a year ago now and had an infection on one side of my scar. It cleared up with antibiotics but it still twinges from time to time when I do heavy lifting etc.

Its been calm for ages, but lately I've had to rock DS a lot as he's teething, had a cold and as I picked him up tonight, had a shooting pain on the aforementioned side.

Anyone else had this? I'm sure its normal as its a big op really, but just want reassurance!

I must admit that I haven't had actual pain in my scar for a long time (had section almost 2 yrs ago). Spells of numbness, yes, and the odd twinge but no real pain. I think it would probably be worth seeing your GP to be on the safe side, alhtough I expect lots of others will post in a moment telling you not to worry. Hope its ok.

nikkie - i had an emerggency c-section 2.7 yrs ago and still get the odd twinge, but when my dd was 1 my tummy was still very tender and couldnt lift things up like i used to do but now slowly recovering

I haven't felt any pain from my scar in ages, but it was numb for a long time. (DS born almost 3 years ago)

Mine's still numb/weird feeling 2.5 years on. Hate it being touched. With a vengeance. Have told DH I'll kick his shins if he does it again.

Nikki76 · 18/05/2007 21:57

Huh - chance would be a fine thing! I don't get touched any more except when DH wants to move me out of the way of the fridge!! lol!!!

Had mine 6 months ago. In my desperation to get back to normal I waxed the hair which was over the c-section scar just 6 weeks after the op as I was sick of looking like a werewolf! Still a bit numb and tingles when I run, though no pain thankfully. They seem to take ages to settle down. I suspect that few of us had a chance to really recover following the c-section as we had a small person to look after!

Hi thanks for that - am Nikki76, but namechanged. Its still pretty twingy...mind you, its a big op really isn't it! You tend to forget that as you have a very demanding baby to look after!
