Anyone know about HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?

MrsWho · 18/05/2007 19:33

I was dizzy/overheating at tthe gym last week and they advised I saw Nurse/GP about my blood pressure as we suspected it was low.
BUT saw someone on Monday and the best of 3 was 134/100 and she recommended going back today and having it done again.
This am it was 142/100 (best of 3)

The Nurse wanted me to see Gp but I couldn't make the only available appointment at lunch time) and now have one for next Friday teatime.

I am now worrying which won't help any suggestions for causes/slef help?

TIA

Crikey I'm worried now.

Dp had his bp checked at work last week as part of a campaign the health service were doing and it was 180/120. They checked it later and it was the same.

He's now had some bloods done by the gp and we are waiting for the results but I didn't realise HOW high it was till I clicked on the link.

We've been joking all week about making sure the insurance policies are up to date and getting the hall decorated pronto now I feel awful. Can't imagine dp ever being ill.

GP I spoke to today didn't think its as big a deal as the other one (and this one is more experienced) but we were mainly discussing the Migraines and as I had one I couldn't really think that straight.

He said if the bottom no is high its a physical prob and the top number is more of a stress problem.

Well this thread must have triggered something because after feeling faint last night I took my blood pressure at lunchtime today and it is at its lowest for 3 and a half years! (106/73) At the time I had taken the reading I had not taken medication since 7pm the day before.
Sorry if not relevant to you but just an indicator that you have to keep an eye on it and going off to the Dr's is not always convenient.

i had my BP taken today by the practice nurse at the insistance of the hospital where i am having my wisdom tooth out.
it is 180/112.
she asked was i stressed and i said yes very, i have 2 children with SN and we are at tribunal next week, i have an infected wisdom tooth and a temperature and cannot sleep.
she wants me to go back next week and have it done again, she said they may refuse to opperate if i cannot get it down, i said take it after the tribunal you,ll find its ok.
