Gush of blood from the bum

So sorry for the TMI...

Over the last week or so I have noticed blood upon wiping, blood in the toilet water after pooing.

I’ve had piles on and off since DS who is now 5 so just assumed it was that, as the blood is bright red.

Just went for a wee, no bowel movement, to find a large pool of bright red blood in the toilet. I assumed I’d come on my period, which can be erratic due to my coil, but it was definitely from my bottom.

Do I need to see my GP or is this likely to just be hemeroids?!

Sorry sorry sorry sorry, I swear I am NOT a poo troll!!

I’ve had this before and would sometimes stand up from a wee and see some blood in the toilet and when I wiped. Would assume it was my period and then realise it was coming from my bum. I’ve had all sorts of tests done to rule out anything sinister and the GP says it’s just a pile and an anal fissure. Sometimes the slightest bit of pressure (such as doing a wee) can cause the pile or cut to bleed.

You should definitely go to the GP. It's probably just a pile or fissure. But it's very important to get it checked, just in case. Please make sure the GP does a rectal examination to confirm their diagnosis.
