Forgot to wash behind dd2s 8 mo ears for a couple of days and now they're all sticky and crusty. Should i just continue to wipe with cotton wool and water a couple of times a day till they heal up or should i put antiseptic or alchohol on?

just wash all the crust off and will heal quick enough, it happens with my ds a lot (his seem to do it in 48hrs) but as long as you wash they will be fine!

yep clean it & dry it thoroughly

if it's very crusty I treat it like nappy rash - pop a bit of sudocream on there or talc to keep it dry.

I guess its basically athletes ear

I put sudocrem on DDs neck when this happens. She's podgy so she gets a sweaty neck - nice. Clears up in a day.

PrincessPeaHead · 18/05/2007 15:04

In our house we call it 'cheesy roll' because it's where the rolls of fat get all encrusted with cheesy stuff.
