Has anyone tried one then the other? Do you react to them in the same way, side-effects etc?

Have had both. First the MP which after time produced the long-term side effects expected - mood swings, loss of libido etc though v light periods. Only prob was remembering to take it (welcome ds1!). Now have mirena and think it's fab - no periods since insertion (fitted not long after giving birth). No discernible side effects to me or to dh. Only downer is wanting another and having to actually think about it this time!

I have used the mini-pill-was a bit late taking it on just one day and got pregnant!
I did use it again after resulting baby, but eventually had a Mirena fitted because I was getting very long and heavy periods on the mini-pill (but I was also taking warfarin as I suffer from Anti phospholipid syndrome, a blood clotting disorder).
Have found the Mirena to be fine-although I did experience "spotting" frequently for about the first year and do still get very light, occasional periods.HTH.
