Huge graze on gum, should I worry?

Just got home from surgery a few hours ago and, as pain killers etc have started to wear off, I've noticed my whole lower right gum on the inside of my mouth has a huge chunk scraped out of it and is really stinging when I try to eat.

I'm guessing this is from when I had a breathing tube? Can anyone tell me if it's normal and will head on it's own, or should I call my dentist to be on the safe side??

Thank you so much in advance x

Use a mouthwash like Corsodyl (thenone for gum problems) should clear it up quickly.
