Did you get ill when kids had chicken pox?

As the title says really!

DS2 came out in unmistakable chicken pox yesterday morning. He doesn't seem too unwell in himself. Just waiting on DS1 getting it now.

But since yesterday, I have felt dreadful. It's like I have a really bad cold. I've heard with chicken pox you can get flu like symptoms. I've had it already, when I was a teen. There's no spots on me. Could I have caught something from DS2?!

I got chicken pox myself.

I caught chicken pox from my toddler when I was 34 weeks pregnant, and away from home on holiday. It was awful, and I felt fluey, feverish etc, but the spots did come out quickly, and I knew I’d not had it as a child.

I've never had it despite all three of mine getting infected. I guess if I haven't succumbed by now I never will. It's not nice as an adult, a friend of mine got it in her 30's and was very unwell.

My DTs caught it at nursery. I came down ill 3 weeks later at 13 weeks pregnant. Was a bit scary there for a while. DP was away when I got sick. Thank heavens for very understanding and helpful ILs who let me go and stay with them until he got home.

No. But my friend's OH got chicken pox again.

Not me but mil caught it from Dd

I'm sure if you only had a mild case of chicken pox as a child you can get it again.
