Has anyone here been officially diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and then what?

Name-changed to save me the blushes.

I asked GP to refer me to Adult ADD clinic. She said I will need to fill in forms without which she cannot refer me (she was trying to find the forms but couldn't during the appointment, so I will need to come back to reception later).

I wonder what were others' experience with ADD help on NHS.

I always suspected I may have ADD (without H bit). No matter how much I tried I always seem to be more impulsive and less stick-it-ess than others. While my life management has improved as I get older (kids, housework and admin do get done), I always had rubbish concentration at work and I'm unhappy that I am not having normal focus like others. Career is stalling but I cannot commit to any studying - with focus and deep procrastination problem like mine.

I'm enjoying the book Deep Work by Cal Newport (how to improve concentration). Would drugs help?
