I am absolutely knackered and feel like I need to sleep all the time. But if I went to the doctors, I think they'd laugh me out of the surgery and say it's just lifestyle.

I've just gone back to work (part time) after adoption leave, I have a toddler, my DM has terminal illness (though doesn't live in the same country), and I definitely carry the 'mental load' at home (though am very lucky to have help from a cleaner).

So I think it's probably just stage of life stuff, and particularly adjusting to working plus being a mum.

So I'm keen to know what I can do, without going to the doctor, to boost my energy. My diet is only ok, so definitely would welcome energy-boosting diet suggestions.

And anything else you can think of.

Thank you very much!

Give up caffeine if you drink it at all, I am so much more energised since giving it up... iron tablets ? Exercise ? Always makes me feel energised after .

Go to the doctors and tell them how you're feeling. They should do a vitamin D test and check your iron levels.

I was exhausted no matter how much sleep I got to the point of falling asleep on weekend mornings after the strenuous task of making breakfast, everything ached and my head felt like it was filled with cotton wool. I was like this for months before finally going to the doctors.

Turns out I was severely vitamin D deficient. Within two weeks of starting the prescribed super strength vitamin D supplements I was feeling so much better. After 8 weeks I felt fantastic.

We're just coming out of a long, dark winter and there will beany people who are vitamin D deficient without knowing it. I didn't believe that something so simple could make me so tired but it did.
