Eugh after painful sex last year I eventually went to the doctor and she dignosed me with lichen sclerosus.
Had to use a steroid cream and have yearly smear tests and check on the condition.
Tried to book an appointment with the same doctor a couple of weeks ago, to be told the next appoitnments would be released today. Just rung now to be told she's booked up for the next 3 weeks then might be going on maternity...
I really don't want to see anyone else, I've had some really painful smears :(
Please tell me to grow up!

Get going. Yes, it isnt the nicest experience but its over in a matter of minutes.

Here in Ireland we are dealing with the fall out of a National Scandal in our health system regarding women's smears. Look after yourself and take ownership of your health. Make that appointment asap

And promise yourself a treat after you go. Afternoon on the sofa, with nice music and a bar of Bournville. Smile

charliebear78 · 04/05/2018 13:59

I know I am due for one too.
I also know my nethers are not the same after my 2nd child and I get quite embarrassed about it all!!
However I WILL be going and so should you

Stop being a wuss, go for a smear, and then treat yourself with a bit of retail therapy afterwards (that's what I do....)

Before I saw the nice doctor it was quite painful! So I convinced myslf it'd be fine this time with her because it was last time! Her not being available threw me! Will ring up now :(
