lovemylover · 29/04/2018 09:23

I am normally slim, always have been, but a couple of years ago went up to 9stone, i am only 5 ft tall but didnt look overweight and looked healthy
I have had a lot of stress in the last year especially and lost a stone
However much i eat, although not a big eater in general, i cant put any weight back on,wouldnt mind but its making me look haggard
Any tips appreciated
Had Thyoid tests in the past but all came back normal
I really think its stress related, but feeling more stressed just looking in a mirror

Even though you've lost a stone you're still a healthy weight for your height.
If you're stressed you're more likely to look haggard and strained.

Perhaps it'd be better to focus on eating a healthy diet with food you enjoy eating, also look into what you can do to reduce stress - relaxation, exercise, meditation etc.

Sounds a good weight. Agree with Mason’s comments

Thanks all for replies, i just know that when i was a bit heavier,i looked healthier but of course i am 2 years older now as well,
I am now just getting over a relationship breakup, which is on my mind all the time, but was part of the reason for the stress
I live alone, but see my family often, most days in fact, which stops me overthinking
Anyway i will try to relax more, and having somr facials to help me feel better about myself,

Can you try tackling your stress?
Have a look for some meditation apps (some are very short) and think if there are any current stressors in your life you can reduce or maybe self refer for CBT or something if you find you are tense/wound up/anxious most of the time.

Are you getting enough sleep and daylight?

lovemylover · 01/05/2018 08:58

Thank you /i dont sleep for more than 4 or 5 hours, and just ordered a blackout blind, which might help,
As for weightlifting, lol, a bit too old for that now, but i do walk for at least an hour a day with the dog, and im quite active around the house
Its getting over this relationship that is the problem really i think, but being in it was stressful too, which is why i ended it

Well relationship is back on, but it wasnt the only stressful situation, or the worst one, which is still ongoing, re my son who keeps having mini strokes,he is at the hospital right now, so impossible to reduce stress levels at the moment
Made an appointment at the Drs, maybe a thyroid check
Might try the protein shakesMissRegina, which ones were they please, or would any do?

Hope your son is OK, could you try something like swimming?

lovemylover · 12/05/2018 14:57

penguinsandpanda thank you, my son is ok, he spent most of the day at the hospital, but was sent home at around 5pm, with meds to relax him [thinking it was a panic attack rather than tia ]and had a blood test, [still with a canula in his arm]
I might try protein shakes as suggested, but they are quite expensive, for only 4, unless i could get sometthing in a large quantity,
Will ask at Holland and Barratt on monday
Will see what Dr has to say first,
I have always found it difficult to gain weight, but dont want to lose any more
