How long after birth should you bleed for?

Hi all, I wondered how long you are supposed to bleed after giving birth. I had my little boy by emergency-C over seven weeks ago and am still bleeding!!
I had 4 weeks of the normal expected bleed but then stopped for two days and began again with fresh blood which has continued over the last 3 weeks with the odd free day.
Thought it was my period returning which was a little annoying as I am breastfeeding

Have been tested by doctor but no infection has been found, has this happened to anyone else?

I gave birth naturally and bled for about 6 weeks afterwards.

I don't know about C-Sections so I hope someone else comes on who does.

I posted a thread exactly like this several weeks ago!! I had a C sectinon and bled for about 6ish weeks, the last two weeks were very light. I'm Bfing and went back on the pill. I had a period after just a few days of taking it but this packet I'm halfway through and haven't seen anything yet.

I had an emergency section - you can bleed for up to six weeks. I bled for three days then it stopped and started again...and again...again, but I had an infection. Much better that everything comes out if you ask me.

Oh and my periods haven't come back seven months later (I'm bfing too) so there is hope for you!

A friend of mine who had a section bled for 6 weeks too.
