anything i can do apart from calpol?

wont entertain a hot water bottle either.

I would go for nurofen for children.
Alternate with calpol and you might get some results.
Did this with DS when he had earache and it definitely seemd to help.

Hi Kittylette, my personal remedy (from having my mum do this to me from a very young age as i had glue ear, gromits etc and ear infections on a very regular basis..) to relieve the pain until you get chance to sort out any underlying infection, warm up some olive oil and pour it in the ear, if you can get your little one to lie down so that the ear you pour the olive oil into stays upwards so the oil has chance to drizzle along his / her ear, a bit of cotton wool in the ear and hopefully, bobs yer uncle!
