Dd - 10 months - got this on friday for nasty throat infection but ahve noticed that now allher bits are really rashy & inflamed looking - wasn't there before antib started. is this just a reaction or does she now ahve thrush?
she is fine in herself but not eating or drinking.
carry on with it or call Dr & ask for something else?
TIA

Antibiotics can definitely cause thrush.

Keep up with the abs, put Canesten on her bits, and if it's no better in a day or two then see the GP.

Might be too late but - ds had lots of antibiotics when newborn and got thrush in his mouth and round his nappy area. We were given Nystan (I think - or something like that) cream on prescription. Guess you have probably done this by now but I would suggest carry on with antibiotics and go back to gp. Antibiotics can also give really horrible poos so if that's happening probably won't be helping with the rash - maybe just check her nappy a bit more often so she doesn't sneak one past you!
