A bit, in a pinchy spikey way.

Kbear · 13/05/2007 11:38

Not really. Usually painless.

Metal staples out of your neck, now we're talking H U R T!!!

What have you done?

Kbear · 13/05/2007 11:39

ha ha - two quite different opinions! Probably alot depends on who is taking them out too!

whomovedmychocolate · 13/05/2007 11:39

If it's on the bone - oh god yes...take some painkillers two hour before!

Only in an unpleasant prickly kind of way. Nothing major (and certainly nothing like being stiched up after, say, childbirth when the local anaesthetic has started towear off)

Oh god, don't wriggle them! The thought of that makes me feel like throwing up!

SoupDragon · 13/05/2007 13:09

But yes, water will loosen the scabs nicely.

No, that's fine. It's purely the fact that the stitches are holding a wound together and are through my flesh. I couldn't cope with pierced ears either! Thankfully they healed up.

kid · 13/05/2007 13:16

I was horrified at the thought of having stitches removed from my stomach after a c-section. They told me to hold my breath as they pulled one end. I didn't really feel a thing as they pulled them out, just a slight tickle.
Hope your experience is a painfree as mine was.

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 13/05/2007 13:16

i hope too

The one that goes in as a running stitch under your skin slithers most unplesantly through your skin when they pull it out.

FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2007 13:18

I've only had them removed from the inside of my fanjo, which not surprisingly, really DID hurt

I think it will be fine

LOl I posted the same question about a week ago, and Soupy mentioned the tugging and slithering feelings

Had been told I needed stitches out of my foot

went to appointment feeling very queasy & consultant told me they were dissolvable ones

I practically kissed him

Are you sure they have to come out?

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 16/05/2007 13:50
