Anyone experience of the minipill Cerazette? I am having a total nightmare with it!

I have been taking Cerazette for over THREE months. I read that unwanted side effects may settle themselves after this length of time and have given it that long.

The long and the short of it is that I have been bleeding the entire THREE months (except a 1 week window where we actually had sex!!). It is clearly the best contraception in the world because you bleed constantly and therefore don't particularly feel up for sex, so no chance of babies. Also... my sex drive seems to have disappeared with the pill!

Tomorrow I am going to stop taking it unless anyone can reassure me that things do/might get better!

I am 38, have three kids and have finished my family, cannot go on the combined pill as I suffer from high blood pressure, we hate condoms and am stuck for alternatives. The thought of the coil scares me. Don't want dh to have the snip. I tried Micronor (another minipill), but also bled erratically (but nowhere near as bad as this pill)..

I am sick to the back teeth of tampons, towels, no sex and no sex drive.

Any advice?

I was on Micronor and also had no sex drive. When I stopped taking it to get pregnant libido increased significantly so I've decided I won't take the pill again. Now use a Persona machine and I've found it really good, although I know it's not for everyone.

Life is surely too short to bleed all day, every day? Surely there's only so much of me in there FGS!! I might disappera to nothing. I am going to stop the nasty little white demon tomorrow and will eagerly await the arrival of my sex drive hopefully by about Tuesday

Friend of mine had exactly the same problem with Cerazette though I've not had any periods since I started it almost 1 year ago so I really think it suits some and not others.

I tried it and took it for 3 months. Didn't get any bleeding, but had very bad bloating . Changed to Femulen and have had no problems with that!

eeek! i've just been given this by my gp whilst i am bf. used to be on minulet but appantly i can't whilst bf? loathe to take cerrazette now!

I had the same as you JennyJJ - and it took ages to settle down - maybe another month or so for you. But when it did I would have 6-8 weeks or more with no bleeding and then maybe a really light period for 2/3 days. But I agree abou the sex drive thing.

I stoppped taking it a couple of months ago and dh says he doesn't recognise me now (in a good way)
