Anyone ruptured their plantar fascia who can give me timescales of recovery?

I ruptured mine in October and it is still painful and causes a limb. Not the biggest problem in the world I know but it is getting frustrating not knowing how long it will take to recover.

Mine took 18months, but then the other one went, still working o nthe side healing!

Took me about four months, both feet. One foot was much worse.

Olivo, 18 months! That is a really long time. I’m really hoping it doesn’t go on that long!

Bobbin, do you have any ongoing problems or fully fixed?

What treatments did you find worked well?

No, fully fixed. I've made sure all my shoes are good now though. I had a spiky ball that I rubbed my foot on in turn. Wore soft trainers for a while.

Yes, it has been a bit ridiculous. The other one is finally easing up. I have used a spiky ball, but what really helped was a splint I got that bends the foot so the calf muscles stretch, not an attractive look but fine when sitting one sofa etc! Also, the tip of never going barefoot or flat shoed, so I relied on my fit flops and keep them next to my bed. Proper fitted orthotic insoles helped too ( can you tell I tried everything?!);

I've also got a spiky roller and wear a heal raising insert all the time, I went for crocs in the house rather than flip flops - I miss going bare foot.

I am seeing the physio next Tuesday and he is going to speak to the foot surgeon again and see if there is anything else we can try.
